Ravishankar Jayadevappa, PhD is a Research Associate Professor, at the Division of Geriatric Medicine, and an Associate Professor in the Division of Urology at the Perelman School of Medicine. Dr. Jayadevappa is also a member of the Abramson Cancer Center, a Fellow at the Institute of Aging, and an Investigator at the Center for Health Equity Research and Promotion (CHERP), Corporal Michael J. Crescenz VAMC, Philadelphia. His primary areas of research interest are aging, health care system, comparative effectiveness, patient-centered care, preference assessment, health economics, health disparity, and equity issues. In particular, his research aims to analyze the tradeoff between economic efficiency, equity, and quality. Dr. Jayadevappa's ongoing projects are related to prostate cancer, bladder cancer, non-small cell lung cancer, breast cancer, and Alzheimer’s. He is the principal and collaborative investigator on several federal and non-federal funded grants. He has primary authorship of over 150 peer-reviewed papers and abstracts. He is a journal referee for more than twenty-five medical journals. He is an editor of PLOS-One and BMC-Urology, the Founding Editor of Gerontology and Geriatric Medicine, an Editorial Board member of the Journal of Cardiovascular Disease, an Editorial Board Member of Case Reports in Urology, and an Editorial Advisory Board Member of Medicine. He is a member of national and local organizations, including the ASCO, AUA, Society for Medical Decision Making, AcademyHealth, and the International Society of Pharmacoeconomics, and Outcomes Research. Dr. Jayadevappa also serves on expert review committees for the NIH, PCORI, AHRQ, DOD, and Denmark Cancer Society.
