Dr. Daniel Forman is tenured Professor of Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh in the Divisions of Cardiology and Geriatrics. He has faculty appointments at VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System (VAPHS) and University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC). At the University of Pittsburgh, he is Chair of Geriatric Cardiology and Director of Emerging Therapeutics at the Aging Institute. At VAPHS, he is the Director of Translational Research at the Geriatric Research, Education, and Clinical Center (GRECC) and Director of Research in the VA Whole Health Program. He is also Director of VAPHS Cardiac Rehabilitation and C-TraC programs.
Dr. Forman's research focuses on improving implementation of cardiac rehabilitation with a focus on improving care for older adults with cardiovascular disease. Related initiatives involve coaching, transitions of care, and personalized care relative to each person's holistic clinical and life circumstances. He research also focuses on cellular to clinical translational research to improve function in older adults contending with cardiovascular disease, multimorbidity, frailty, polypharmacy, and other complexities of care of an aging population. Related initiatives focus on nitrates, metformin, and other interventions.
