Joshua F. Baker, MD, MSCE, is a CHERP Core Investigator, Staff Physician at the Michael J. Crescenz VA Medical Center (CMCVAMC) in Philadelphia, and Associate Professor of Medicine and Epidemiology at the University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine. Dr. Baker serves as the Co-Director of the Network of Dedicated Enrollment Sites (NODES), the Co-Lead of the clinical core of the Cartilage Regeneration using Advanced Technologies to Enhance Motion Center, and the Director of the Clinical Research Center at CMCVAMC. His work has been supported primarily by VA Awards. Through this support he has focused on identifying modifiable risk factors with the goal of improving clinical care of chronic forms of arthritis, particularly rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, and gout. Specifically, he aims to conduct observational and interventional studies with a focus on improving skeletal muscle health, obesity, bone, and joint health, cardiovascular disease, and other long-term outcomes in patients with common forms of arthritis.
