Bruce M. Kinosian, MD is a CHERP COIN Investigator and Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Kinosian's research has focused on the impact of clinical programs focused on frail elders in the community, and their ability to improve their quality of life. This has included developing community partnerships to integrate social and medical care, extend acute medical care into the home, and testing financing mechanisms that better align incentives for providers and patients both within VA and in traditional Medicare.
Dr. Kinosian is a general internist/geriatrician with involvement among a broad group of researchers. He has produced influential cost-effectiveness analyses of interventions for cardiovascular disease in work spanning a decade; developed sophisticated, pioneering models for Alzheimer's disease using Grade of Membership techniques; and has been involved in economic evaluations of a range of clinical trials funded by the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and its research arm, Health Health Systems Research (HSR).
Dr. Kinosian received his BA degree in economics from Stanford University and his medical degree from the University of California at San Francisco.
