Veteran Advisory Board (VAB) - VA Pittsburgh Health System
The Veterans Advisory Board (VAB) at the VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System (VAPHS) seeks to include and promote Veteran perspectives and engagement in VA-funded research.
The VAPHS VAB collaborates with VA researchers to inform and improve research related to the quality and equity of Veterans’ health and health care by providing feedback on new and ongoing research and evaluation projects and providing suggestions on the use and dissemination of study results. Their insights and views of VA-funded studies enrich both the current research and the potential for developing new projects to explore in the future as the VA continues its mission to serve Veterans.
The Pittsburgh VAB activities include:
- Offer independent Veteran perspectives about their experiences with VHA healthcare.
- Provide advice for recruitment and study information materials, and identification of research partners
Veterans Advisory Board Mission:
To advise VAPHS leadership on issues relating to Veterans, their needs, and the care they receive from VAPHS. In addition to the research guidance, the board provides feedback on hospital and program initiatives, outreach and marketing activities, and other related undertakings.
