Ada O. Youk, PhD, is the Associate Dean of Undergraduate Academic Affairs, Director of the BSPH program, and Associate Professor in Biostatistics at the University of Pittsburgh's School of Public Health. She is also Senior Biostatistician in CHERP's Biostatistics and Informatics Core (BIC). In her roles as Principal Investigator, Co-Investigator, and Lead Biostatistician, she has primary responsibility for statistical integrity, including conceptualization, design, and grant development, recruitment/data collection, monitoring, analysis, reporting, and manuscript preparation. Her primary area of statistical expertise is regression modeling with extensive experience analyzing big data from large administrative data systems as well as prospective clinical trials and epidemiological studies involving time to event modeling and mixed effects modeling. She has maintained successful research collaborations most recently with VA investigators. In her roles as Educator and Mentor, she teaches the undergraduate introductory course in public health biostatistics and has taught courses in graduate introductory biostatistics, applied regression analysis, scientific communication skills, mathematical methods for statistics, and mixed models. She has mentored over 150 students, fellows and early-career faculty, and 38% of her peer-reviewed publications are with mentees.
