Profile

Alice is a nurse-midwife and fellow with CHERP as an Advanced Fellow in Women’s Health, at the VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System. She studies women’s health, particularly health complications in the period after pregnancy and healthcare delivery for post-pregnancy Veterans. Her current research focuses on maternal morbidity in the postpartum year, measuring the impact of Medicaid expansion and postpartum extension, and morbidity risk measurement. Her research has been supported by the Nightingale Foundation of Pennsylvania, the Achievement Rewards for College Scientists (ARCS) Foundation, the National Institute of Nursing Research T32 grant (2NR008857), and internal grants and scholarships from the University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing. She completed her PhD at the University of Pittsburgh in 2025, her Master of Science at Frontier Nursing University in 2015, her Bachelor of Science at Georgetown University in 2010, and her Bachelor of Arts at the University of Chicago in 2006.
