CHERP Investigator Wins Research Award
Dr. Robert E. Burke receives Society of Hospital Medicine 2024 Excellence in Research Award
CHERP Core Investigator, Robert E. Burke, MD, MS, SFHM, received the 2024 Excellence in Research Award from the Society of Hospital Medicine for his work to reduce unnecessary hospitalizations and long-term nursing home care for frail older adults. Dr. Burke uses principles of implementation science to improve care delivery for older adults at scale as well as big data approaches to improve policy and align incentives.
Dr. Burke is a Staff Physician at Corporal Michael J. Crescenz VA Medical Center (CMCVAMC) in Philadelphia and Associate Professor of Medicine and Associate Chief of Research (Divisions of General Internal Medicine and Hospital Medicine) at the University of Pennsylvania.
