CHERP Investigator Receives HSR Award
Dr. Maria K. Mor receives HSR Investigator Special Recognition Award
CHERP Core Investigator and Co-Director of the Biostatistics & Informatics Core (BIC), Maria K. Mor, PhD, received a 2023 Investigator Special Recognition Award from VA Health Systems Research (HSR).
The HSR Investigator Special Recognition Award honors field-based investigators who have made significant contributions within the past 12 months as specialists on research projects and/or the broader research enterprise. In addition, awardee funding for the previous 12 months was required in full or in part from HSR, the Quality Enhancement Research Initiative (QUERI), or operations-partnered research.
Dr. Mor has statistical expertise in the analysis of clustered and multilevel data, is well-versed in the data management and manipulation of the VA clinical and administrative databases, and has experience in prospective data collection within VA. She has contributed her expertise in research design and data analysis on projects focusing on improving MRSA screening for hospitalized Veterans, reducing severe hypertension in Black Veterans, and improving administrative methods for using race and ethnicity data.
As Co-Director of the BIC, she oversees the statistical and programming aspects of CHERP research and actively facilitates the sharing of programs, methods, and ideas to address the statistical analyses and database management between research projects.
