CHERP Core Investigator Receives ASHP Award
Dr. Katie J. Suda Receives ASHP Foundation 2024 Literature Award for Sustained Contributions
CHERP Core Investigator and Associate Director, Katie J. Suda, PharmD, MS, was named the recipient of the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) Foundation 2024 Literature Award for Sustained Contributions. The ASHP Literature Awards recognize pharmacists who have made significant contributions to biomedical literature. This award was presented to Dr. Suda at the ASHP Midyear Clinical Meeting & Exhibition on December 9th in New Orleans, LA.
Dr. Suda has published more than 250 research articles focused on pharmacoepidemiology and the effectiveness of implementation strategies to improve prescribing. Her work has informed national policy on antibiotic and opioid stewardship.
Dr. Suda is a two-time recipient of the ASHP Foundation Literature Award for Drug Therapy Research (2007, 2020) and received two Impact Paper in Infectious Disease Pharmacotherapy Research Awards from the Society of Infectious Disease Pharmacists (2007, 2018). In addition, she has twice been recognized with an American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy Social and Administrative Sciences Research Publication Award (2018, 2024), as well as the Society for Healthcare Epidemiology of America Antimicrobial Stewardship Scholar Award (2020), and the Shepard Science Award from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (2017).
